Introduction: Who is Kali?

When we first had our food stall experience, in late 2013, the name 'Kali's Kitchen' came almost naturally and was chosen unanimously. It not only sounded good but felt good too, for Kali has a very deep spiritual meaning.

The above image is the Kali 'yantra', the mystical diagram of Goddess Kali, which we are respectfully currently using as our company logo.

Kali is the Hindu Goddess of the female energy 'shakti', the primordial energy of creation, and so she is worshiped as the benevolent Great Mother or the Mother of the whole Universe. 

For us 'Kali's Kitchen' symbolizes the energy of the food that we make. From the moment of choosing the raw ingredients to the entire cooking and serving process, everything has to be done with care and love
... just like a mother towards her children; 
... just like Kali towards Her creations.

This is the philosophy we practice at 'Kali's Kitchen'.
